Year in Review: 2010

A lot of things happened in 2010 for the world of fashion. This year, some people came back, some left, some made it to the top and some passed away...... We cried our eyes out for Alexander McQueen, raising eyebrows at Lady Gaga, obsess over Glee, thrilled by Mr. Ford's return and shocked by Vogue Paris's Carine Roitfeld leaving. Year 2010 is the year of surprises and drama, don't you agree?

Rock 'n Roll to 50's Ladies
Suddenly from leather leggings and shredded t-shirts, we abandoned our inner Taylor Momsens and say hi's to knee-length dresses and pumps, aka. WOMEN. Marc Jabobs changed my favorite brand Louis Vuitton(mwah!) into a different direction, along with Miuccia Prada and Nina Ricci. I guess everyone wants to see something new, since there are photoshoots such as Vogue US July 2010 "Magnificent Obsession," and Vogue China September 2010 "Dream Away"(and that's just 2 of my favorites) One by one we dropped our wannabe rock girls and, maybe for once and for all, become ladies?

The Return of Tom Ford
Tom Ford is finally back after 6 years. Besides directing A Single Man, designing menswear and glasses. No more comments.

R.I.P Alexander McQueen
Sadly, one of my favorite designers died days before Fashion Week Fall 2010. Watching the Fall 2010
collection had been extremely hard, since every piece had a medieval and religious look and obviously a tribute to the after life. But each piece is unique, just like Alexander McQueen. He is the one designer that I admired the most. Ever.

Au Revoir, Carine Roitfeld
Paris Vogue's editor decided to leave at January 2011. What a surprise. I can't believe she left before Anna Wintour! So, au revoir!
Vogue China
Happy 5th Birthday, Vogue China! And it's still my one of my favorite magazines. The cover is beautiful, with Liu Wen, Shu Pei Qin, Fei Fei Sun, Ming Xi and Tao Okamoto in Alexander Wang.

Elle US & Elle UK
is celebrating their 25th Anniversary! I'd only get my hands on the Megan Fox Elle US cover, regretting that I didn't get Elle UK Kate Hudson one :(

Us the Bloggers in Power
I mean, who's sitting in the front row of fashion shows, along with a bunch of Anna Wintours and Olsens? Fashion Toast, Cupcakes and Cashmere, Pandora, The Glamourai and The Stylish Wanderer got the Forever 21 Campaign(especially Rumi, she's all over the billboards in Time Square) Others got to guest blog and design a collection for Coach. We are growing stronger...... more collaborations, more photoshoots and more campaigns. Hopefully 2011 will be just as great!

Launch of Burberry Beauty
Christopher Bailey decided to launch a new cosmetic line for Burberry. He compared the collection to the classic trench, and how it is classic and goes with everything. I guess it literally applied, because the outside is covered with the signature plaids(some of the foundation even have the name "trench," just saying). Personally I think the line is very natural, all the shades are very warm and polished. Hopefully I had time to go to Burberry in Manhattan and get something.

Gleek Out
Finally my favorite obsession: Glee! This is an extremely great year for my favorite TV show. I guess I really like all the singing and dancing............

Still there? Glad I didn't bore your sorry ass off :) So what do you think(not that I care)? Better grab a pen of your choice and quickly write down this year's bests and worsts for you............

a feminine approach

I just love Louis Vuitton. The sweetness of the skirts and the suits prove that I'm a hopeless romantic at heart, even though if I don't seem like it. Floral, as long as it's not storybook-grandmom floral is alright. So is high-waist shorts/pants. Um, and cat-eyed sunglasses. Simply: delicious.

merry christmas

Merry Christmas

Brooklyn, huh?

I really hate it when people gush about how great Brooklyn is when they don't even live there. Maybe if you live there, like me, maybe you would disagree. Sure, if you consider it's great to get gum stuck in your shoes. And if you like to live in houses/apartments the size of a shoebox. Eh, sure it is inspiring.

Polished, classic and easy are some of my favorite adjectives.

Elle France December 2010: Christy Turlington

I always love the sweetness of Louis Vuitton Fall 2010. The sweaters! The suits! The dresses! For all I know, I can wear pretty sweaters and knee length skirts for my whole life without regretting it.
